In the school year of 2011-12, I began an informal study of Positive Psychology with a professor from Oregon State University in Corvallis. I was fascinated. And I loved everything he taught and explained. As I applied the teachings, I marveled at the ways that those teachings affected my life.

Where did it go? Thanksgiving flew by. Then there was the rush to get ready for Christmas. Christmas came and went in a storm, literally for us on the eastern slope of the Sierras. And figuratively as well, a storm of wrapping paper and ribbons, candy cane and sugar cookies, and ham dinner that lasted a blissfully long time. A beautiful storm of family visits and reconnecting with dear friends. And then the peace that comes after the torrent subsides.

I so love a high school classroom! What an amazing place to spend hours and days of life. At the beginning of October I was fortunate enough to spend the first period of the day with the Executive Mentors at North Valleys High School.
